REVIEW: Facial Cleanser for Dry Skin

“Oh my God, you have NO ACNE! Stop complaining,” my friends cry, as they point to my “spotless” skin. Sure, I may only get a pimple once every few months, but make no mistake: my swollen, patchy skin is as dry as the Sahara Desert.

I suffer from eczema, and some of the most sensitive areas of my body – like my face – is cursed with dryness, cracked skin and itchy, painful inflammation. For someone like myself who loves a full-coverage makeup look, this can pose some difficulties. While it may be easy to find moisturizing primers and hydrating foundations, it’s actually been harder for me to find a makeup remover that won’t leave my skin itchy, red and dry. Things as gentle as Neutrogena makeup remover wipes leave my eyes watery from the inflammation around them (great brand, though!).

Naturally, this condition was passed down from my father, so he suggested I try Dr. Gross products – luckily, they sell the brand at Sephora.

Cue Dr. Dennis Gross saving my life and allowing me to remove my makeup pain-free. I started using the All-In-One Cleanser with Toner about a month ago, and I haven’t had a problem with removing my makeup since. It’s a non-drying facial cleanser that is used without water – I know, kind of weird, you just rub it on your skin and wash it off 10 seconds later (for oily skin, 30 seconds later). My skin is so smooth after using it and never feels tight or dry like other cleansers.

Bonus points: it’s vegan and cruelty-free. Is this why you get paid the big bucks, Gross? Thank you for saving my face!!!

What do you think of this cleanser?
